I thought I almost blew it for Sarah. Why had I mentioned her? She was not supposed to be the topic of conversation between us. I was supposed make Cayne forget his sister was even at this party. I was supposed to pretend to flirt with him but… I wasn’t really pretending anymore.
So I was relieved when he didn’t go take off after his sister. He still wanted to spend time with me and I wanted to spend time just looking at him.
“Is that some creepy way to get me into your bedroom?” I was trying to be feisty.
“Whoa, why would you even say that?”
My eyes widened at his response. What? I was flirting! I wanted to cry. This was terrible. Could I turn around and run away?
In my panicked state, I could hear him chuckling in front of me. That told me that I had just completely overreacted to his teasing. Great. I looked up, not bothering to hide my glare.
“Well, somebody looks uncomfortable.”
“Shut up it’s not funny.”
“Let’s go see my bedroom, Violet.”
